Pastor for Retirement Community


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Pastor to provide spiritual guidance, support, and leadership to residents of our retirement community. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors by fostering a welcoming and nurturing environment rooted in faith and community.


This position is a part-time position working up to 20 hours a week.  Sunday morning worship service, a weekly bible study on Thursday nights, grief support monthly as well as services for celebration of life or funerals.


Key Responsibilities:

- Provide spiritual counseling and support to residents, their families, and staff

- Lead religious services, prayer meetings, and devotional activities

- Offer pastoral care and visit residents regularly to provide comfort and encouragement

- Coordinate and facilitate faith-based programs

- Collaborate with staff to address the spiritual needs of residents and promote holistic well-being

- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate sensitivity to diverse faith backgrounds

- Support residents during times of crisis, grief, or transition

Requirements

 

Skills and Qualifications:

- Ordained or licensed minister with relevant theological training in the protestant faith

- Prior experience working with seniors or in a retirement community setting preferred

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

- Compassionate, empathetic, and respectful demeanor

- Ability to lead religious services and facilitate group discussions

- Knowledge of diverse faith traditions and inclusive practices

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of residents
