Pastor

The Men’s Pastor is a visionary mobilizer and disciple-maker tasked with leading men to say “Yes” to Jesus and His purposes. This role is the "Pace Setter" for male engagement at Saddleback, moving men from passive attendance to active Kingdom impact. By leading a scalable small group strategy and a high-capacity on-campus Men’s Study, the Men’s Pastor creates an environment where men are challenged to grow in faith, family, and leadership. Serving on the Small Groups Team, this role designs the pathways that disciple, develop, and deploy men into gospel-centered lives that transform their homes and our community.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Large Scale On-Campus Men’s Study

  • Lead, teach, and curate a weekly high-impact gathering of 300–500+ men. This involves teaching, facilitating small groups, and recruiting and developing a volunteer team.

Men’s Small Group Strategy

  • Design and drive the primary vehicle for engagement across the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. This includes designing and driving a diverse group strategy and leading the small group launches each semester.

Leadership Pipeline & Team Development

  • Build a scalable leadership structure. Recruit and develop a team of volunteer small group captains and coaches to support 200+ group leaders. Implement and oversee mentoring strategies and cohorts to develop high-capacity men for church-wide leadership.

Pastoral Weekend Presence

  • Champion male engagement at all 4 Lake Forest weekend services.
  • Be the "face" of the movement—welcoming men, praying for the broken, and aggressively recruiting men into movement (baptisms, giving, and serving).

WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

  • Proven Large-Scale Leadership: 5+ years of experience leading a large ministry or organization (300+ people).
  • Communication: Proven ability to teach and communicate effectively to a large male audience.
  • Disciple-Making: A history of building leadership pipelines and multiplying small groups.
  • Strategic Recruiter: A "Hunter" of talent who can identify, recruit, and deploy high-capacity leaders.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable with database metrics (Rock/CCB) and digital communication tools to track the "Winning Metrics."
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Bible degree (Master's or Bachelor’s) or equivalent theological training preferred.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Highly competitive benefits plans. Health plans with employee low deductible medical (EPO and PPO), dental, and vision coverage.
  • 403(b)-retirement plan with employer contribution.
  • Generous holiday and paid time off plans, including a paid week off between Christmas and New Year’s Day.
