Position Title: Lead Next Steps Pastor

Position Summary: The Lead Next Steps Pastor is a Central services role that is responsible for the leadership and oversight of Groups, Care, Recovery, Yes to Jesus, Baptism, and Prayer at Central. They collaborate with our Campus Pastors and other campus leaders who lead and execute on the campuses. The Lead Next Steps Pastor is the leader and champion of Mission and Vision for Central Groups, Next Steps, and Cares.
While this is a Central position, the Lead Next Steps Pastor will provide coaching and direction in how we execute everything in the area of Next Steps effectively across all campuses. This individual must fit within our collaborative culture. As outlined in Ephesians 4:12, our job is not to do ministry but to “equip the saints to do the work of the ministry.” We do this through building ministry teams. Our ministry teams include Team Members, Team Leaders, and Coaches. We also provide leadership to our teams as we Invite, Equip, and Engage those serving in Next Steps.
This position moves forward the mission and values of Central Christian Church. The mission of Central is to lead people to discover and fully own their faith in Jesus. Our church values are Jesus First, People Always, and Made for More. They will also be expected to immerse themself in Central’s staff leadership culture of Jesus First, Same Team, Make It Better, Feedback Matters, Give It Away, and Healthy Hustle. Our culture is not aspirational, but conversational. It permeates how we speak and interact with one another as well as who we are and how we lead.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and provide vision for groups and Next Steps ministries.
- Provide tools, resources, curriculum, training, and a model for groups and Next Steps ministries for all campuses.
- Provide regular coaching for campus Next Steps Pastors.
- Establish an annual Next Steps calendar and ensure it is implemented at all campuses.
- Provide accountability for Next Steps budgets at campuses as well as establish and oversee the Central Next Steps budget.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Prefer 3 years of related ministry experience.
- Recent leadership experience of leading leaders.
- Hard worker who is flexible and adaptable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to personally administrate.
- Must be proficient in MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, and proficient in the application of Rock.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk sit; use hands to finger handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to twenty-five pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
